War is PR with violence.
There were no beheaded babies. If you’ve ever used that story as a reason to justify your position, then you’ve gotta ask serious questions about your media literacy.
In war, you’ve gotta do the mahi. If your main source is Twitter, then you’ve really gotta do the mahi. If you don’t know where to start, you can do way worse than applying SIFT.

One of things 9/11 taught me is that ‘if it’s too good to be true, it probably is’ is also validly interpreted as ‘if it’s too bad to be true, it probably is’. I now wait and wait for the context to emerge for all war ‘news’ now.
