One of the gold plated myths that Muskrats love to trot out is: Starlink will print money. It’s the one fart the desperately huff.

Not so much it seems:

But according to a damning new report by Bloomberg, Musk may have once again rigged the numbers in his favor by greatly underplaying the costs involved in launching the satellites, when in reality the company is losing “hundreds of dollars on each of the millions of ground terminals it ships.”

So, in the usual Musk way… he has abused the commons for a failed endeavour. He has made ground-based astronomy (optical and radio) vastly more difficult and hasn’t made any money.
