It, honestly, hurts to watch that “Crush!” video…
For the last year and definitely with the AVP I have been pretty certain that Apples best days are behind it. All they have left is stock buy-backs (which should be illegal BTW). It is a pale cargo-cult of what it used to be. The “Crush!” video locks it in for me.
This is why “shareholder value” is such a destructive driver. I now believe that Cook has no idea what Apple is. He knows how to drive it, but he has no idea how it works. He’s like a character in a science fiction novel that discovers an alien device. He works out how to use it successfully but can never tell you how it works. A bunch of Wharton MBAs aren’t going to turn their backs on “shareholder value” and create something wonderful.
